WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA – WHQR Public Media’s Spring Pledge Drive will begin this Thursday, March 7, 2019 with a focus on HQR News, Classical HQR, and our service to our community. This is one of the on-air fundraising efforts that make up the largest single part of WHQR’s funding.
As a non-profit independent radio station, WHQR counts on the support of its members to provide the high quality radio listeners have come to expect.
WHQR’s Spring Pledge Drive would not be possible without the help of more than twenty teams from local businesses and non-profits and individual volunteers who answer our phones during each pledge drive. This community support, along with financial donations, is vital to the station’s survival. WHQR also thanks the many area restaurants who donate food to feed the volunteers.
WHQR Public Media is a non-profit, member-supported, community-based public radio station, broadcasting from Wilmington. A trusted source for NPR News, WHQR serves southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina with HQR News at 91.3fm and 98.9fm, and Classical HQR at 92.7fm and 102.3fm. WHQR offers award-winning national and local news, music, entertainment and interaction to expand knowledge, encourage artistic appreciation, engage our community and promote civil discourse.
