Shallotte, NC – ATMC recently awarded Seaside United Methodist Church with the first ATMC Connect Grant. In early 2018, ATMC established Connect Grants to aid in costs associated with the delivery and utilization of ATMC broadband services used by local businesses and non-profits that provide technology and economic initiatives which require connectivity. The grant program is a key element of ATMC’s vision to improve Internet access and increase the use of technology in areas served by the company.
Representatives from Seaside United Methodist Church (Seaside UMC) in Sunset Beach, NC, applied for the grant to increase broadband capabilities at their location. Seaside UMC hosts several community-oriented programs including a GED program, a summer literacy and enrichment program for elementary aged kids called S.T.A.R.S., a food bank, unemployment resources and more. “We are thrilled to receive this grant from ATMC to enhance our broadband speeds at Seaside UMC,” commented Reverend Scott Wilson-Parsons. “Faster and more reliable Internet will be beneficial to all of our ministries, especially to our GED and S.T.A.R.S. programs.”
“Economic development and business growth are important to ATMC,” stated Keith Holden, ATMC CEO. “This new grant program gives us another opportunity to enrich this community by aiding programs that help countless others.” ATMC has allocated $25,000 annually to the Connect Grants program. Local entities may enquire about the program by contacting Victoria Bellamy, ATMC Public Relations Coordinator, at 910-755-1677.
